Monday Geography (1st Semester)
- To the right is the list of countries we'll learn about over the first semester. Each Monday, two students will volunteer (or be chosen) to research and present upon a country the following Monday. (If there is no school on the following Monday, it will be the next Monday that we do see each other.)
- Sometimes students will be able to choose the country they want to present, and other times, I'll ask for volunteers to present specific countries. Either way, you will know the country you are presenting on the Monday prior. If you have not discussed the country with me, something is wrong.
- Because the rest of the class is depending on you to research and present your country at a specific time, late work cannot be accepted for this assignment.
After the two presentations every Monday, you will take a quiz that will require you to label the following items on a map:
For example, the first quiz will include the continents, oceans, and the first two countries presented. The second quiz will include the continents, oceans, the first two countries presented, and the latest two countries presented. By the end of the semester, you will have learned about 28 different countries and will be able to find them on a map.
Be prepared to encounter different types of maps as we learn about the world. The map you study may not be the map you see on a quiz.
Practice Games & Resources
Use these games to help you study, and use the resources on the right to learn about the country you're presenting.
